Mission Statement

At Poppyhill of Recording we aim to provide training of the highest quality to all our students. Through our training and support our aim is to nurture our students natural abilities and creative talents, and to optimise their potential for a fulfilling and successful future in their chosen career path. Our wish is that all students who attend our school will benefit not only from an excellent education but also from an atmosphere of friendliness, optimism and mutual respect. Most of all our aim is to develop confident and happy human beings that we will be able to call “Friends for life”!

Poppyhill School of Recording operates an equal opportunities policy whereby all individuals regardless of race, class, gender, disability, religious belief, age or sexual orientation will have equal access to our training services. All staff at our organisation are in full awareness of this policy and will conduct their duties and make provision in so far as is possible to ensure full accordance with this policy.

Policy regarding applicants with special needs

Poppyhill School of Recording operates a policy of acceptance of applications from individuals with special needs and will endeavour to facilitate and enhance the learning experience of all students with special needs to the best of it’s abilities through implementation of adaptive procedures and use of available learning aid resources. All Staff are in full awareness of this policy and fully obliged and committed to it’s implementation where required.


1.    Applicants with special needs will be obliged to inform the school in writing of any special needs at the time of their application and notice of this obligation will be given on relevant application documentation.

2.    Should it be considered that the applicant’s special needs are beyond the limits of adaptive or support resources the school can provide, the school shall be entitled to refuse the application in the applicant’s best interests.

3.    With regard to assessments, special consideration may be given where a student’s current physical or mental situation is considered to place them at a disadvantage compared to the considered norm. This special consideration may not place a student at an advantage compared to other students.

4.    This special consideration may take various forms including but not limited to:

a.    Allowance for the allocation of additional time to complete assessments

b.    Allowance for alternative means to divulge essential knowledge

c.     Use of available adaptive hardware and software aids to assist in the production of assessment evidence. Any allowances given shall be at the discretion of the school and with approval from the accreditation body.

5.    Implementation of this special needs policy shall not in any way undermine the quality of education available at the school nor undermine the standards and credibility of the qualifications being offered, or the accreditation body.

Terms and conditions of enrolment 

 Terms and conditions of enrolment 

1. A deposit secures a course place subject to an application being successful. This deposit is refundable up to a period of seven days following the date of payment or in the case of an unsuccessful application.

2. A student withdrawing from a course after the commencement date shall not be entitled to a refund under any circumstances and shall remain liable for the full course fee.

3. Course fees DO NOT include examination fees

4. In the case of online courses, applicants must accept that owing to the unpredictable nature of internet connections, occasional disruptions may occur, for which school shall not be held responsible.

5. The number of students accepted on a course shall be at the discretion of Poppyhill School of Recording but shall not exceed sixteen.

6. Poppyhill School of Recording reserves the right to cancellation of any course. In this event applicants will have the option of a full refund of fees paid or a place on an alternative course.

7. Any student who's behaviour is being disruptive and detrimental to the progress of other students on any course can at the school's discretion be expelled from the course without recourse to any refund or appeal.

8. No correspondence will be entered into with any party other than the course applicant. i.e. The Student.

9. In the unlikely event that a course for which an international student has enrolled is cancelled, the school will assist the student in so far as it is able to find an alternative course. In this case the school will provide a full refund of fees paid by the student to the school. The school shall be indemnified against any claim for otherl expenses incurred by the student.
